Geographic Information Management

Product & Service Offerings

Process-Focused Strategic Planning

Starting with problem identification and feasibility, we work through, and develop solution opportunities and implementation plans that meet the functional and technical requirements of the utility. In addition, throughout solution implementation, we work with the utility, business unit, or functional group...until the work is completed.

Competitive GI Process Reengineering

Working with the business unit, we use an operations-centric approach to identify the opportunities for improvements to the "as-is" process and to develop the "to-be" model. The model includes process changes, existing systems, and any required new systems to support and enable the new processes.

Geographic Information Strategic Plan (GISP)

Based on a clear understanding of the utilities present and future requirements for geographic information and how it needs to interface with other systems, we develop solutions involving multi-year strategic implementation plans for the required systems and data. Our solutions combine people, processes, and systems in a synergistic relationship.

Strategic Implementations

The identification of issues and solutions is the first step toward gaining and maintaining a competitive advantage. The final step is implementing the systems, providing the required change management, and working through the issues. We offer the development of the functional and technical specifications for software design, system selections, implementation, integration, training, and support. Our team also develops complete RFPs for the required services, response systems for RFP evaluations, implementation support, and project/program management. Yanco Associates has competency in all major GIS offerings, energy delivery IT solutions, and the providers of supporting services.

System Integration Planning

Utility reality is that legacy systems, including manual processes, exist and need to be incorporated in any “go-forward” plan. Our GISP focuses on the current system capabilities and the plans for new systems, as well as the specific project focus. We offer the development of an integrated business process and systems strategy, plan, and detailed design.
