ManagementRichard A. Yanco, Principal and Executive ConsultantMr. Yanco is the founder and a principal of Yanco Associates, Inc. In addition to directing the overall activities of Yanco Associates, Mr. Yanco also provides management level consulting services which include strategic planning, process reengineering, operating methods for Transmission and Distribution facilities, and implementation of new technology including automated work management systems. Mr. Yanco has directed the development of a structured process for utility change, designed and implemented a fully integrated object orientated work management system (WIN) for the utility industry, and implemented his design for predictive maintenance management system for substations. He is recognized for his utility expertise and is used as a consultant by research groups such as the Electric Power Research Institute and Oak Ridge National Laboratories and by engineering firms such as Sargent & Lundy and Black & Veatch. Mr. Yanco worked in utility operations, construction and management for twenty years at New England Electric System. He held positions in all of the Transmission and Distribution departments, was a manager for a large retail area, and finished his career as the Vice President of Transmission and Distribution for the Massachusetts Electric, Granite State Electric and New England Power Companies. This experience and knowledge has allowed Mr. Yanco to reengineer the entire business process at several major utilities. Education:
J. Ronald Jarvis, Principal and Executive ConsultantMr. Jarvis is a principal of Yanco Associates. He provides management level consulting services which include strategic planning, process reengineering, and implementation of Smart Grid technology including AMI, MDMS, SCADA/EMS, Substation Automation, Outage Management, AM/FM/GIS, Work Management, and Field Workforce Automation. Mr. Jarvis has over 30 years of experience with electric utility operations, design, and construction. At Black & Veatch, he was the General Partner responsible for the design and construction of Transmission and Distribution systems, SCADA/EMS systems, and utility automation systems. While at Black & Veatch, Mr. Jarvis had extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of transmission systems up to 500 kV, and was later responsible for developing their utility IT Solutions practice. At Stone & Webster, he was the Vice President responsible for the Utility IT Solutions practice. At Siemens Energy, he was the Director of Metering Services, and established and led the team tasked with the implementation of Meter Data Management Systems. Mr. Jarvis is a registered Professional Engineer in six states. Education:
